The Ministry of Defence, in April 2025, approved the conversion of MMRHSS into a Sainik School, under a public-private partnership. 

 

The conversion brought to reality a dedicated Sainik School campus on eight acres of land, within a 26-acre plot on the banks of the famed Karamana river.

The Sainik School campus stands about 4 km away from the Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station and the Thampanoor KSRTC Bus Station on the National Highway 47. The distance to the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport is around 10 km.

Facilities at the Sainik School include well equipped state of the art labs for physics, chemistry, biology, botany and zoology.  

​

An audio visual lab featuring high speed internet access also is housed within the campus. 

​

A library with traditional as well as digital collection of around 5885 books and computer aided learning support systems has also been set up.

​

Outdoor and indoor play grounds also form part of the campus. These apart, firing grounds and swimming pool find a place on the campus.

​

Admission for the 2025-26 batch has commenced from Class VI.
